Hello! We’re Olivia Haller and Anna Long, the writing duo behind the feature screenplay the Experience.
The Experience is a folk horror about theatre that takes place in an immersive show similar to Sleep No More in Manhattan, with echoes of Midsommar, Suspiria, and The Menu. With our combined dance and theatre conservatory backgrounds, we know how the stage can be a tremendous force for identity, community and belonging while also having the potential to be supremely abusive, degrading, and exploitative. This movie is a blood-soaked tribute to our love/hate relationship with art -- why we leave and why we keep going back.
